YES Social Enterprise

Over the past few months Youth Entrepreneurial Services (YES) Participants, volunteers and staff have been busy developing and growing the YES social enterprise; a place where young people can get hands on experience in all aspects of business. Participants have the opportunity to design and create a beautiful range of handmade products as well as work behind the scenes in website development, branding, admin and sales.

YES have had generous volunteers share their skills and craft in a variety of mediums; from spoon carving to soap making and everything in between. These skills are then practiced and refined in order to create quality products.

Recently Participants, volunteers and staff were lucky enough to learn how to make candles from a local maker and the process has become a favourite among all (the office smells amazing on candle making days!). Perhaps the most enjoyable part is being able to choose a candle flavour from over 60 different scents, along with the opportunity to get creative by mixing scents – Bonnie has created her own ‘Caramel Latte’ blend which smells divine!

During November YES has held a stall at several markets, giving Participants a chance to engage with customers while showcasing their creativity and crafting skills. Wonderful feedback has been received from customers so far.

If you would like discover what YES is all about, have a chat to Participants and check out (or purchase!) some of the wonderful products that are being created – come and find us!
