Donated Car

Workskills has donated a 2013 Nissan Dualis to the Jordan River Service Inc. for the Top Gear Learner Driver Mentor Programme.

Workskills Inc. Chief Executive Officer Pat Kluver, along with Mark Boonstra from Impact Communities officially handed over the keys to Helen Manser on Wednesday 14 June at the Gagebrook Community Centre.

Pat Kluver said “Workskills is extremely proud to be working in partnership with Jordan River Services and further investing in our local community to make a real difference. With transport problems for some people in the Brighton area, this is a mutually beneficial way we can help people we support to realise their true potential”.

There were Board members, staff from both organisations, some very happy mentors, three current learners who are in the Top Gear Programme and of course a number of Workskills staff in attendance at the handover.

Helen Manser from JRS said “this new vehicle will allow the Jordan River Service to put more of the 38 current people on the waiting list through their hours and help employment in the community”.

The Jordan River Service Inc, would like to say a huge thank you to Workskills for this very generous donation. This vehicle will allow us to expand the Top Gear Programme and will support us to assist more residents of the Brighton Municipality to obtain their licences, sooner!

The donation follows a recent donation of a Ford transit bus to the Derwent Valley PCYC and shows the strong commitment that Workskills has towards supporting and empowering our local communities.
