Singapore visitors to Impact Communities

This past week we welcomed Ms Tien Li Won, Assistant Director at the Central Youth Guidance Office (CYGO), and Mr. Michael Zhou, Senior Research Psychologist at the Clinical and Forensic Psychology Service (CFPS), both from Singapore. They are visiting Hobart as part of a conference, and googled youth employment programs and up came YES/Impact Communities, they extended their trip to find out what we do

They wanted to learn about:

• the programmes and services provided by Impact Communities for young people to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial skills;
• innovative approaches to addressing the needs of employment and career development of young people;
• how Impact Communities works in partnership with different stakeholders to achieve the objectives and outcomes.

We took them for a tour of YES, observing the young people in action, took them to the Cruise ship market where we had a Troublesmiths stall, and across to Hamlet Café for lunch, where Emily from Hamlet told them about their approach to provide work experience.

They were very impressed with what we do, and shared the work they do in Singapore. Great to potentially see some International connections emerging. They even suggested inviting us to present at a conference in Singapore next year!
