Preparing For Work in Times of Rapid Change

Preparing for work

This week Impact Communities participated in the “Preparing For Work in Times of Rapid Change” conference in Launceston.  The conference was delivered in partnership with the Career Development Association of Australia, and the Tasmanian Government Education Department.

Impact Communities had an exhibit showcasing our Coaching Young Poeple for Success and Ready Set Job programs. Both these programs received a lot of interest from teachers, principals and senior education department leaders.

The intention of the conference was to assist teachers and career leaders to; “Prepare all young people for the workforce both now and into the future” – Jenny Gale Secretary Ed. Dept.

The conference assisted participants to challenge their understanding of the rapidly changing world of  ‘work’, and the implications for young people in terms of preparation, skills development and participation. The conference explored how globalisation, automation and collaboration have transformed the nature of work and job seeking.

Impact Communities has enjoyed a long relationship with the Education Department, and our participation in this conference will continue to strengthen the work we do to make a difference in the lives of young people.
