Financial Literacy Workshop

Financial Literacy

Workshop participants engaged in conversation about financial literacy

Last week Impact Communities, in partnership with the Hobart Women’s Shelter, ran a two day workshop on Financial Literacy. The aim of the workshop was to build the capacity of sector staff to confidently and respectfully enhance the knowledge, understanding and skills of women experiencing homelessness and/or domestic violence, to allow them to make informed and effective financial decisions that result in a positive impact for themselves and their families.

The workshop covered four key areas which were:

  • Values and Attitudes
  • Money in our Community
  • Budgeting and Support; and
  • Resources

“What an INCREDIBLE & insightful workshop you provided. I am very thankful for the opportunity to attend the financial literacy 2 day workshop…”  (Feedback from a participant who completed the Financial Literacy workshop)

“This learning has equipped me with confidence in discussing and instigating discussions with clients regarding their finance.” (Feedback from a participant who completed the Financial Literacy workshop)

“Fun, engaging and lively…” (Feedback from a participant on the delivery of the Financial Literacy workshop)

We would like to thank all participants for their input, effort and enthusiasm over the two days (especially those that travelled over 3 hours each way to be there!) and hope that you were all able to take away valuable information and skills to assist your clients in Financial Literacy.
